Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2025

Our Commitment

NearbyAssist is committed to ensuring our platform is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We believe that access to local services should be barrier-free, and we continuously work to meet and exceed accessibility standards.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological conditions.

Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation throughout the application
  • Screen reader compatibility (ARIA labels and roles)
  • High-contrast color combinations (WCAG AA compliant)
  • Resizable text without loss of functionality
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Logical heading hierarchy on all pages
  • Form fields with associated labels and error descriptions

Known Issues

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the platform are still being improved. Known issues include:

  • Some third-party embedded maps may not be fully keyboard-navigable. We are working with our map provider to resolve this.
  • Certain PDF documents may not be fully accessible with screen readers. We are converting these to accessible HTML formats.

Share Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of NearbyAssist. If you experience accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please Contact us. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days.
