Our commitment to AI transparency
NearbyAssist uses artificial intelligence to surface relevant local businesses, power personalised recommendations, and help business owners manage their operations. This page explains each AI feature, how it may affect you, and your rights under the EU AI Act.
AI Features
Personalized Feed
Collaborative-filtering recommendations of local businesses tailored to your interaction history and location.
Data used: Interaction history, signal type (view/click/dismiss), location (optional)
Visual Search
Analyses images you upload to identify the service type shown and suggest matching local businesses.
Data used: Uploaded image, location (optional)
Business Ranking
Orders search results using text relevance, geographic distance, and AI-powered semantic matching. Promoted listings are clearly labelled.
Data used: Promotion status, boost multiplier, aggregate rating, search query
AI Business Insights
Generates actionable recommendations for business owners based on their operational metrics.
Data used: Business metrics, booking data, review summaries
AI Concierge
A conversational assistant that helps you discover and book local services.
Data used: Conversation history, location (optional), language preference
AI Business Assistant
Helps business owners manage bookings, invoices, projects, and analytics via natural language.
Data used: Business data, bookings, staff records, CRM data
Your Rights
Request human review
If any AI result seems incorrect or unfair, you can request a human to review it via our support team or the in-app "Talk to a person" button.
Right to explanation
You can ask us to explain how any AI recommendation or ranking was produced.
Download your AI audit log
Logged-in users can export a full record of their AI interactions from account settings.
Opt out of personalisation
You can disable AI-powered personalisation in Settings → Privacy → Personalisation. You can also request deletion of your personalisation profile without deleting your account.
Fundamental Rights Impact Assessment
We maintain a publicly available FRIA as required by EU AI Act Art. 27. Our ranking system is classified as precautionary high-risk under Annex III, Category 4(a), and we apply full high-risk controls.

Your data is not used to train OpenAI's models.
